CAD - Design & Detailing

BIM - Full Project Integration
Building Information Modelling, or BIM, is the process of integrating the information of various trades to ensure the shared resources to support decision making, and speed up conceptual development and changes through the design process.
At SKDS we fully embrace the concept of BIM working by ensuring every component is 3-D modelled in "true scale", and so providing seamless integration with other trades and disciplines.
By sharing BIM resources with all other disciplines of the project, the client can ensure that the model is always up to date with the latest Construction information, and ensure all building materials and fabrics work together, and in conjunction.
BIM shared resources can also help with the planning and execution of the installation stage by allowing the design team to visualize methods of erection, taking into account other materials and site constraints, long before the materials actually arrive on site.
Survey
At SKDS we know exactly what information is required from the site survey in order to accurately produce working details. Unfortunately, site surveys usually fall short of providing the necessary information, or in the correct format.
We can offer a complete service of survey and detail, which ensures that the information required to produce the complete fabrication issue and relevant GA information is always attained.
Our experienced staff are CSCS, SMSTS and IPAF trained, with extensive site-based experience behind them.
Our team can also provide fundamental feedback to our clients regarding site access and installation methods, and reflect this information within the drawing process.
Commercial Controls
Arguably the most important aspect of all projects, it is necessary for our clients to have complete commercial control of the project, even as a project develops.
With this in mind, SKDS has developed strategies and processes unique to the business, to ensure that any programme or cost implications caused by design development changes are highlighted to the client as soon as possible.
Full revisions breakdown summaries, with projected change implications are issued to the client as any variation happens, and commercial updates ae available at any given time, thus ensuring the client is full in control of project budgets.
